Le Lapin is the French word for rabbit. It’s also the name of a line of wines produced from grapes grown predominantly in Paso Robles by one of the region’s best producers, Rabbit Ridge. All of the Le Lapin wines are non-vintage, which means two or more vintages can be combined. This allows blending of a newer vintage wine for freshness with an older vintage for complexity or to make the wine more approachable. This is especially important when tannic varietals such as Syrah and Petite Sirah are involved. Le Lapin will always be the best value wine produced by Rabbit Ridge Winery. "The Rabbit" intends for this wine to taste as good as, if not better than, bottles produced elsewhere for twice the price. Although Le Lapin wines are made in an every-day style and are ready to drink now, they should age well for a few years.
