Telmo Rodriguez is widely recognized one of Spain's most talented and prolific winemakers. A proud student and proponent of Spain's viticultural history, he is leading a revival that focuses on planting indigenous varietals and rediscovering forgotten regions of superior terroir. Telmo studied viticulture and oenology at the University of Bordeaux and was the winemaker at Remelluri, his family winery in Rioja, before setting off on his own in 1990. He spends most of his time and efforts in the vineyards – he farms biodynamically, he trellises his vines using the traditional bush method and only uses massale selections to replant. Telmo understands that most people will be introduced to him through his baseline cuvees, therefore he puts as much attention into his everyday wines as he does his rare and limited bottlings.

Tasting notes
A lively, vibrant wine with aromas of ripe peachesand nectarines with exotic notes of gingerbread and orange marmalade. The finish is precise yet slightly spicy with a streak of minerality to provide balance and structure.

Technical notes
Telmo Rodriguez named his wines from the Malaga region, “Mountain Wines,” after the extremely steep shale slopes upon which the vineyards are planted. The hand-picked fruit was fermented in stainless steel with native yeasts to preserve freshness and aromas.
