Russiz Superiore is the pride of the Marco Felluga family. The family's winegrowing dynasty started in the late 1800s, when the current Marco Felluga's grandfather Marco recognized the terrain's potential for cultivating grapes. Russiz Superiore is located in Capriva del Friuli, in the heart of Collio. Its name comes from its position that rises above the surrounding hills. The estate extends over 250 acres of which 125 acres are planted to vineyards. The vineyards are located in four different villages in the Collio DOC – Farra, San Floriano, Oslavia and Cormons. Each hill has a unique microclimate and the soil is rich in marl, loam and sandstone called flysch. The fruit is all handpicked. The property is managed by Alessandra and Roberto Felluga, children of the Marco Felluga. The winemaker is Rafaella Bruno.

Tasting notes
Deep straw yellow with gold and green highlights. An elegant bouquet of acacia flowers and grapefruit with sweet undertones. Good structure and a silky texture that coats the palate.

Rating
90 Points ~ International Wine Cellar "Bright yellow-gold. Deep aromas of yellow plum, fusel oil, flint, wet stone, bay leaf and licorice. Supple, sweet and rich, with an enticing layered texture and complex citrus and stone fruit flavors. Vibrant acidity cuts through the wine's creaminess and extends the finish. A hint of caramel stays in the background throughout."
